1. What camera do you use?
I use a Canon EOS 7D Mark II with a Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM. It is a old but tried and true setup. I shoot almost exclusively fixed lenses, which means they don't zoom. I find them to be faster, sharper, and easier to use. Zoom with your feet, as they say.
2. Why do you only take pictures of birds?
I don't! Birds are pretty sick, but I 'm a wildlife photographer by trade, and I photograph landscapes, city scenery, and love portraits too. I'm available for senior photos, family photos, etc. I always like to expand my repertoire.
3. Where are you going to college? What are you studying?
I attend Hobart and William Smith College in upstate NY. It's a fantastic place, and I already have research ideas lined up within a bio major. My other areas of study are environmental studies and art.
3. Are you planning on being a photographer when you're older?
That's an understatement. I would love to work either as a National Geographic photojournalist or lead my own trips following grad school. Regardless of my primary career, I will always be taking photos.
